| Hand carved with very intricate detail. This unique sculpture is crafted by hand from Chamjuri wood. Before carving, the wood is kiln dried in a huge oven so that any cracking can be fixed with epoxies to prevent future cracking. The pictures do not do justice to the rich color and intricate carving. Unlike other wooden Indians you may have seen, this one looks very realistic. During the 19th century, tobacconists to attract patrons into their stores frequently displayed carved wooden Indians. Until recently, a great mystery surrounded the History and Origin of Cigar Store Indian, Wooden Indians, Shop Figures and Wood Statues that are a part of American folk sculpture. Weight is about 200 lbs. |

Our Wood Indians are in another league from others you may see. The detail and finish work is far superior to other carvings being offered anywhere. We spend weeks on final detailing to give an exquisite antique appearance. Every chisel cut is sanded smooth with radius. It may not make good sense to spend this much time on something that will not be realized until delivery but I want my Indians to be the absolute best you will ever see..

The rates are about the same and can range from under $200 to $600 depending on the distance from Tennessee. It will be delivered to your home or business for the same cost.
